Prof Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann

Claudia Traidl-Hoffmann is a specialist in dermatology and allergology and Head of the Environmental Medicine at the University Hospital Augsburg and HelmholtzMunich. As a full professor, she is responsible for the Institute of Environmental Medicine and Integrative Health (TUNE) in research, education and clinical care. She is also Deputy Director of the Centre for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg. She specialises in the prevention of chronic inflammatory environmental diseases, particularly atopic dermatitis and allergies. Her research focuses on human-environment interactions, especially at interfaces such as skin and mucosa, and on the health effects of climate change. She contributes her expertise to the development of new therapeutic approaches and effective prevention strategies and is actively involved in science communication. She is involved in policy advice as Special Representative for Climate Change and Prevention of the Bavarian Ministry of Health, a member of the Environmental Health Commission of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) since 2022, and a member of the WBGU since December 2022.
