Anke Weidenkaff is professor at the TU Darmstadt and director of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies IWKS (since 2018). She is advisory board member and spokesperson Science and Technology, KIT, Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft (since 2016). Before: Chair of the E-MRS Spring Meeting (2019), President of the European Thermoelectric Society ETS (2016–2019), professor (chair holder chemical materials synthesis) at the University of Stuttgart (2013–2018). Kavli Foundation Lectureship Award (2011). Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2000 at the ETH Zürich, Switzerland, received the Venia Legendi for Solid State Chemistry and Materials Science from the University of Augsburg (2006) and became Head of the  Solid State Chemistry Group (2003–2006) as well as Head of the Laboratory for Solid State Chemistry and Catalysis (2006–2013) at Empa, Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science & Technology Dübendorf, Switzerland. She is WBGU member since 2020.
