1998 chairman of the executive board of the Insitute for Solar Energy
Technology. Professor at the University of Kassel, head of the department
for efficient energy conversion. Formerly head of department at the
Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (1981-1993). University
of Karlsruhe (1992-1995). Memberships: Board of trustees "Forum
for Future Energies"; chair of the expert group renewable energies
of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of National Research Centres.
Since 2004 member of the WBGU.
