science at the University of Duisburg-Essen; Professor for International
Political Economy at the University of Munich (2003); Academic Director
of the Institute of Development and Peace, Duisburg (1996-2003); Numerous
research activities in Latin America and Asia. Memberships: Scientific
advisory board "peace and conflict research" of the Federal
Foreign Office; member of the board of directors of the group "Development
Theory and Development Policy" of the German federation of politicital
scientists. Member of the WBGU since 2004. Since 2009 Vice Chair.
